Chama, N.M. & Antonito, Colo.--- ALL ABOARD! The world’s most famous talking locomotive is returning to the Southwest in just two months.  The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad will host “Day Out With Thomas: The GO GO Thomas Tour 2013” June 15, June 16, June 21, June 22 and June 23. Children will enjoy a day of Thomas-themed activities, including music, a ride on Thomas the Tank Engine, arts and crafts, storytelling, a bouncy house, an imagination station, food and fun all at the historic railroad yard. The No. 1 blue engine and his friends including Sir Topham Hatt, controller of the railway, will transport travelers to a world of imagination through the tracks of a train and the words of a story.

Seen on the pages of favorite storybooks, in playrooms, and on the children’s TV television series "Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends," Thomas is adored by children everywhere. Along with his engine friends, Thomas captivates children in more than 145 countries and 30 languages. To date, 200 million Thomas & Friends books and e-books have been sold and the CGI-animated Thomas & Friends series rates as one of the top programs for children ages 2 to 5.

 Now in its 18th year, “Day Out With Thomas: The GO GO Thomas Tour 2013” is presented by HIT Entertainment and sponsored by MEGA Brands, a leading toy company and the Hard Rock Hotel. A Day Out With Thomas experience will engineer miles of smiles for the whole family and introduce a new generation to the timeless excitement of railroading.

Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad Hosts “Day Out With Thomas: The GO GO Thomas Tour 2013”

WHEN: Saturday, June 15, Sunday, June 16 and Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 23, 10:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 12 p.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 3 p.m.  On Friday, June 21, the last run will be 2:15 p.m.

A ticket for Day Out With Thomas includes the train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, as well as a variety of Thomas & Friends-themed entertainment, including storytelling and video viewing, Temporary Tattoos of Island of Sodor friends, an Imagination Station and more. Guests can have their picture taken with Thomas the Tank Engine and will also have the opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt™, the Chairman of the Railway on the Island of Sodor.


The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad is jointly owned and operated by New Mexico and Colorado.  The railroad was recently designated as a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service.  It is the highest and longest steam powered, authentic, narrow gauge railroad in the United States.  The passenger railroad travels over its historic road grade from Chama, N.M. and Antonito, Colo.
