ROCK ‘N' ROLL LEGEND SEDAKA COMING TO BUFFALO THUNDER

SANTA FE, NM-Pop icon Neil Sedaka will dazzle concert-goers on Saturday, November 1, 2008, 8 p.m. at Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino.

"What a treat for our guests to join the intergenerational fan club which has been applauding Neil Sedaka for a half century," says Executive Director of Marketing, Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino David Oakeley.

"We welcome Neil Sedaka to our resort and are very proud to present him in concert at Buffalo Thunder," adds Oakeley.  "We look forward to this musical retrospective which will bring back memories of sock hops and saddle shoes, pony tails and poodle skirts, drive-ins and double dates- and an era which seemed less complicated, kinder and gentler."

The chart-topping Sedaka is famous for such hits as "Calendar Girl," "Little Devil," "Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen," "Next Door To An Angel" and "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do."

For over fifty years, Sedaka has written, performed, produced and inspired countless songs, placing him forever in the firmament of rock ‘n' roll history.

Trained as a classical musician from a young age, Sedaka began playing doo-wop in high school. With Howard Greenfield as his songwriting partner, Sedaka was the first to sign with pop impresario Don Kirschner. He went on to sign a contract with RCA as a writer and performer of his own material, recording numerous hits in the 1960's.

Elton John signed Sedaka to Rocket Records in the 1970s and began to re-introduce him to American audiences with "Sedaka's Back" in 1974 and "The Hungry Years" in 1975, both of which became top selling albums worldwide.  Sedaka has received many honors, including induction into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 1983 and being given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1978.

In 2007, Sedaka released "The Definitive Collection," a career-spanning retrospective in honor of his 50th anniversary in show business, which hit #22 on the Billboard Chart.

Concert goers can enjoy all aspects of the newly-opened Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino, which is the largest destination resort in New Mexico. Buffalo Thunder includes a state-of-the-art casino with Las Vegas-style gaming and the Hilton Santa Fe Golf Resort & Spa at Buffalo Thunder with 390 luxury guest rooms.
